Jack Mazzotti, Past President

Jack Mazzotti is currently the President & CEO of Harbor Schools of Maine.  He has been with the agency since 1999. He has a graduate degree in Psychology and has worked in the human services field for over 30 years.

 

Mike T. Mooney, MSW, President

 Mike earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona in 1980.  Mike began his career in the field of youth work as a juvenile probation officer with the Navajo County Probation Department in Holbrook, Arizona in 1980.  In 1985 Mike returned to Flagstaff and became the Director of Residential Services for Adventure Discovery. In 1990 Mike moved to Maine and began working for New Beginnings in Lewiston.  New Beginnings provides a continuum of services for youth who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  Mike is currently the Director of New Beginnings’ Transitional Living Services, providing housing and supportive services to youth in Lewiston, Augusta and Farmington.  Mike completed his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Maine in 2005.

 

John Markoe  Vice President

John Markoe currently serves a Chair for the Association’s Professional Development Committee. John has been an employee at Good Will-Hinckley for 22 years and he is currently Director of Cottage Programs. He has been representing GW-H at the MAGCP for over 10 years. His experience includes working with Stated Licensing Officials, COA accreditation, staff supervision, professional development and credentialing of Youth Care Workers, adventure-based programs for youth and teaching. John, his wife Barbara and his son Peter live in Oakland, Maine.

Genevieve Gardner, L.C.S.W. Treasurer


Genevieve Gardner graduated from College of the Atlantic in 1994 and went to work in New York City and attended Hunter College School of Social Work. In 1997 she came back to Maine to work at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center directing their residential programs for children and teens where she worked for 7 years. She obtained her Masters in Business Science from Husson College in 2003, and most recently has been working at Connections for Kids as the Clinical Director.  She has been Treasurer for the Maine Association of Group Care Providers since 2000.

            Leslie Poake, Secretary

Leslie Poake is the Finance and Administrative Manager for Project Atrium, Inc. and has been in the position for over three years. Prior to that, Leslie lived in Philadelphia, Buffalo and Atlanta, running for-profit companies in an industrial service field. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. Leslie moved to Maine in 2002 and lives in Bucksport with her husband and two dogs.
